Othello Tunnels. Less impressive than expected yet still a cute hike.
The story: a big canyon and a "crazy" guy who believed he could build a tunnel to cross it. He did!
The path to the canyon. BEAUTIFUL.
The first of 5 tunnels. No light. Flashlight or darkness :)
See the light at the end of the tunnel? ;)
A tunnel, a bridge over amazing running water, and another tunnel.
Going off of the beaten path...
And having real adventures!
After that, we went for lunch in the town of Hope, WA and ate at a really good diner. There, we saw something we'd never seen before.
What is it? 1:30pm, sun, a few clouds and a circular rainbow around the sun. A guy there said this is very common before a storm. We saw no storm, but this was pretty strange, interesting, weird and a bit creepy, all at the same time.
After this, we took a very narrow (ouch!) scenic drive to our campground. The campground? The worst I've ever been to.

Glacier day
Today we saw glaciers along Icefields Parkway, between Banff and Jasper.
Volcanic rock
More glacier,
More volcanic rock
And more glacier,
Look at this weird mountain!

Banff, Alberta, Canada
Today we started at Banff. A very high gondola, rain, cold, more cold and amazing views.
Some sun for the way down the mountain :)
And now off to the town of Banff...
And after that, to Johnston Canyon Hiking Area...
And last for the day, the amazing, Lake Louise! - see the glacier on top?
